Woodforest National Bank
Maren Colon is a Community Development Divisional Manager for Woodforest National
Bank with a territory of New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia. In her role,
Maren is responsible for identifying community development needs for the low- and
moderate-income neighborhoods and building relationships with community partners
and resource providers to meet those needs through lending, investments and service
opportunities. Prior to joining Woodforest, Maren had a brief role as the CRA Business
Operations Manager for KeyBank where she oversaw the CRA reporting and
procedures schedule and lead discussions with lines of business on CRA performance.
Previously, Maren was the Vice President of Sponsorship and Corporate Philanthropy
for Consumer Bankers Association (CBA), a financial services trade association in
Washington, DC, where she generated $4.2m in revenue through membership and
sponsorship; planned and executed, CBA LIVE, an 1800 person conference; oversaw
the CBA Foundation; and was the liaison for both the Community Reinvestment and
Risk Management Committees. During her time at CBA, Maren focused on CRA policy
and developed relationships with regulatory agencies, consumer groups, and CRA
industry professionals.
Maren has a background in government relations and started her career working on
Capitol Hill in the United State Senate and for a prestigious lobbying firm, Denny Miller
Associates. Maren has her B.A. from the University of South Dakota in Political Science
and Mass Communications.
