Miriam has been the editor of Shelterforce since 2010, and has overseen its development into a full-fledged newsroom, blending that with the publication’s longstanding relationship with on-the-ground writers from the field. During that time she has spoken and written on housing and community development topics across the country. Miriam was previously on staff at Shelterforce from 1997 to 2002 and has also worked in local journalism and as a community development consultant. She is based in Albany, New York, and is a proud small-city aficionado.
